This system is a comprehensive, self-contained unit that
provides the necessary infrastructure (water supply, storage, and measurement
capabilities) to perform a wide variety of fundamental experiments in fluid
statics and dynamics.
1. Core Bench Functionality
The bench itself is the circulating and supply unit for the
various experiments.
- Water
Storage: Water is stored in a tank situated on the lower
shelf of the bench (sump tank).
- Water
Circulation: Water is transferred by a pump to two
possible locations:
- An elevated
open storage tank (used for constant head experiments and free
surface studies via glass tubes).
- A recessed
area into the working surface (to collect water and prevent spillage
during bench-top experiments).
2. Auxiliary Fluid Mechanics Apparatus (Specifications)
