BCD Adder and Subtractor Trainer Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-EELE-12762
Indian Lab Suppliers supplies the BCD Adder and Subtractor Trainer (Product ID: 12762) as part of its electronics engineering lab equipment range. It demonstrates addition and subtraction of numbers in binary-coded decimal (BCD) form.
Quick Answer
Adding two BCD digits in binary gives a wrong code whenever the sum exceeds 9 or produces a carry; adding 6 (0110) corrects it, and subtraction is done with complements. On this board, sections A and B each have 8 input switches (16 in total), a control switch selects addition or subtraction, and 26 LEDs (16 input, 10 output) show the logic states and carry. It runs on 5 V DC logic from 230 V ±10%, 50 Hz mains, drawing about 2 VA, and weighs about 2.3 kg. A digital storage oscilloscope is listed as additional apparatus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is 6 added in BCD addition?
Four bits have 16 codes but BCD uses only 10, so adding 6 skips the six unused codes.
How many LEDs are fitted?
Twenty-six: 16 for inputs and 10 for outputs.
What else is needed?
A digital storage oscilloscope is listed as other apparatus.
