Discharge Through Venturimeter, Orificemeter & Rotameter Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14010
This equipment is a self-contained water recirculating
unit designed for the experimental comparison and calibration of three
common types of flow meters: the Venturimeter (differential pressure,
low loss), the Orifice Meter (differential pressure, high loss), and the
Rotameter (variable area).
1. Key Components and Design
The central feature is the arrangement of the three meters in
parallel, allowing for independent testing.
- Parallel
Flow Meters: The Venturimeter, Orifice Meter, and
Rotameter are all connected in parallel within the piping system.1
- Control:
Valves are provided at the downstream of each meter. Operating
these valves allows students to isolate and put any one meter into
operation individually.
- Venturimeter: Made
of Clear Acrylic (transparent) and compatible with a 1 inch
Diameter Pipe.
- Orifice
Meter:
- Orifice
Plate: Made of Stainless Steel.
- Housing: Made
of Clear Acrylic and compatible with a 1 inch Diameter Pipe.
- Rotameter:
Provided with a Compatible Range and made by Eureka makes.
2. Water Circulation and Flow Rate Measurement
A volumetric method is used as the highly accurate reference
standard to calibrate the meters.
- Water
Circulation: Provided by an FHP Pump (Crompton makes)
from the Sump Tank (50 Liters capacity).
- Flow
Rate Measurement (Actual Flow): This serves as the true flow
reference for calibration.
- Achieved
using a Measuring Tank (25 Liters capacity).
- An Electronic
Stop Watch is used to measure the time for collection, calculating
the actual discharge Qactual.
- Control
Panel: Includes standard On/Off Switch and Mains Indicator.
3. Purpose and Experiments
The primary goal is the direct comparison of the three
devices under controlled conditions.
- Calibration:
Determine the Coefficient of Discharge Cd for the Venturimeter and
Orifice Meter, and generate a calibration curve for the Rotameter.
- Performance
Comparison: Compare the inherent design trade-offs of the
three meters, specifically:
- Pressure
Loss: Analyze the difference in permanent head loss (lowest
in Venturi, highest in Orifice).
- Accuracy
and Cost: Evaluate the relative accuracy and simplicity
of each type.
