Velocity Radar Gun

Product Code : ILS-K-11659

Indian Lab Suppliers supplies the Velocity Radar Gun (Product ID: 11659) as part of its kinematics range. It is a hand-held Doppler radar gun that reads the speed of a moving object on a large LCD screen.

Quick Answer

Aim at the moving object, pull the trigger and read the speed when the trigger is released. Digital signal processing gives ±1 mph (about ±1.6 km/h) accuracy over 10–110 mph for small objects such as balls, and 10–200 mph for vehicles. A tennis ball can be read from about 90 ft (27 m) and vehicles from up to 1500 ft (about 460 m). Like any radar, it reads the part of the velocity directed along its line of sight, so hold it as close to the direction of motion as safely possible. It uses two C batteries, not included.

Where This Is Used

Used for thrown and hit balls in sports-science lessons and for traffic-speed surveys outside school. Objects below 10 mph, such as lab carts, are better timed with a photogate such as the BeeSpi (Product ID: 11653). Please confirm the display units (mph or km/h) at quotation.
